Artist's Description
Designed by Boeing B-29 Superfortress is a four-engine propeller-driven heavy and was flown primarily by the United States during World War II and the Korean War. It was one of the largest aircraft operational during World War II and very advanced for its time. It featured a pressurized cabin, all dual wheeled, tricycle landing gears, and a remote, electronic fire-control system that controlled four machine gun turrets. A manned tail gun installation was semi-remote. The name "Superfortress" continued the pattern Boeing started with its well-known predecessor, the B-17 Flying Fortress. Designed for high-altitude strategic bomber role, the B-29 also excelled in low-altitude nighttime incendiary bombing missions. One of the B-29's final roles during World War II was carrying out the atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Of the 3,970 B-29 bombers that were built during World War II, FIFI is the only B-29 in the world that's still capable of flight.

Hi I'm Doug, Welcome to my online gallery. I'm a Dallas Ft Worth based photographer specializing in the creation of automotive artwork. Over the years I've shot a variety of subjects eventually finding my calling capturing the style and beauty of automobiles. My catalog runs the gamut from early American vintage to exotic super-cars with muscle-cars and imports included in the mix. Most recently I have begun adding some aviation pieces to my portfolio. The style that I developed working with cars seems to translate well with this subject matter too. Look for more of these among my works as time and opportunity allow. If you'd like help finding a...
