The Corvette Sting Ray was the second generation of the Corvette line. Introduced in 1963, the dramatically restyled C2 was offered as either a coupe or convertible. The coupe came as a fastback with rear glass that swept back into a signature V-shape. Initially the coupe came with a split-rear-window. For safety reasons, it was abandoned in 1964.

GM also beefed up the power-plant during this era. The drive-train would evolve from a small-block V8 and culminate with the 1967 model being offered with a tri-power 427 big-block sporting 435 horses.
